09 10 2008
New OECD Guidelines Case against Netherlands-based Makro in Pakistan

Shehri-Citizens for a Better Environment (Shehri-CBE) is requesting that the Dutch National Contact Point (NCP) specifically ascertain whether MAKRO has broken two sections of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises; Chapter Two, General Policies, and Chapter Five,  The Environment.  Shehri-CBE is also looking to the Dutch NCP to facilitate a resolution with respect to the company’s involvement in the illegal transfer and conversion of land use, human rights violations and environmental degradation.
