Asadho/Katanga: African Association for the Defence of Human Rights

ASADHO is a non-political NGO that defends and promotes human rights. ASADHO’s recent work includes exposing the logistical role played by Anvil Mining, an Australian/Canadian company, in the October 2004 Kilwa incident in which at least 70 people died, many of whom were summarily executed by the Congolese Armed Forces. An OECD Guidelines complaint concerning Anvil’s role in the Kilwa incident was filed by Rights and Democracy in Canada.
