CEIA

CEIA is A pro – poor scientific oriented research based non – governmental organisation established in 2006. The mission of CEIA is to protect human health and the environment. The objectives for which CEIA was formed are: to independently monitor and assess the levels of toxic chemicals used by MNE in the extractive and manufacturing industries in Ghana; to advocate for environmentally sound mining practices. CEIA research activities falls under the ff thematic areas: monitoring and risk assessment of hazardous chemicals, environmental application of advanced biotechnology, management of hazardous chemicals in industrial complexes, transboundary transport of air pollutants. The work of CEIA seeks to hold MNE accountable to OECD guidelines on good corporate environmental behaviour and also have upholding the human rights of host communities to the OECD investments.
