Ecoceanos

The centre ‘Ecoceanos’ is an independent civil organization set up in 1998. Its objectives are the conservation and sustainable maintenance of the resources and ecosystems of our seas and oceans; to improve the informed participation of civil society; and the sustainable development of the coastal and regional communities and economies. Ecoceanos promotes the empowerment and active participation of civil organisations, fisheries organisations, coastal communities, villages and small and medium sized fishery enterprises. Ecoceanos wants to draw public attention to the importance of and problems facing oceans and coastal areas and the potentials that exist to remedy current threats to these ecosystems.
