Germanwatch

Germanwatch is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-governmental "North-South initiative". Germanwatch is actively engaged in directing German political policy towards sustainability for the countries of the South as well as those of the North. Germanwatch promotes the readiness of the German population to accept the structural changes necessary to ensure southern countries the chance for self-determined development. Germanwatch has been working on investment issues and Corporate Accountability for many years, starting with a campaign against the Multilateral Agreement on Investment. After the Review of the OECD Guidelines in 2000, Germanwatch took over the role to kick off the work on the OECD Guidelines in Germany. Germanwatch is coordinating the NGO work on the Guidelines in Germany and advising NGOs on how to use the Guidelines.  The organisation has filed two cases on breaches of the Guidelines and is involved in NGO activities to promote the UN norms.
