Response to the UK consultation on the terms of reference for an update of the OECD Guidelines
On November 2009, the International Bar Association (IBA) created a Working Group to review the OECD Guidelines and respond to the consultation document requesting the views of key stakeholders on the priority areas in the Guidelines requiring update that was prepared by the UK Department of Business Innovation + Skills.
The Working Group has included a broad range of comments and ideas to help improve the instrument as a whole. The OECD must consider creating additional chapters to provide greater clarity to Multinational Enterprises. The OECD should consider expanding the Commentaries to reflect the changing legal, economic and social framework that surround the Guidelines.
This submission represents the Working Group's best efforts to present their views in the tight timeframe in which to review and make comments.
