Viva Life & Nature Conservative Initiative (VLCI) is a Nigerian non-governmental and non-profit civil society organisation committed to protecting nature, conserving biodiversity and building resilient communities. VLCI works to address interconnected environmental and development challenges, including climate change, biodiversity loss, deforestation, land degradation, ecosystem destruction and unsustainable use of natural resources.
Our work focuses on biodiversity conservation, forest and wetland protection, mangrove and coastal ecosystem restoration, climate action, nature-based solutions, environmental education, research, community empowerment and policy advocacy. We work closely with local communities, women, young people, civil society organisations, government institutions, development partners and other stakeholders to promote inclusive and sustainable environmental action.
VLCI operates primarily in Nigeria, with a broader African and international engagement through partnerships, networks and global environmental processes. We advocate for stronger environmental governance, accountability and implementation of international environmental commitments while supporting communities to develop sustainable livelihoods and become active stewards of their natural environment.
Our vision is a healthy, resilient and sustainable world where people and nature thrive together.
