MAD aims and works for more democratic, ecological, participatory, and fairer urban and rural spaces. Embracing a trans-disciplinary approach, MAD produces, accumulates, and shares knowledge on spatial issues that is innovative, solution-based, and open-to-public. MAD carries out action-research that aims for social change, learns from the field, and simultaneously contributes to the field. Putting the cooperation at the center in all its work, MAD works closely with civil society actors, activists, initiatives, local groups/authorities, academics, technical and legal experts, and brings together transdisciplinary knowledge, innovative methods, and universal expertise to document, visualize, campaign, and increase the visibility of local disputes in cooperation with local urban and environmental initiatives.
